Terms & Conditions
Cyto is made by Smito Solutions. Using it means accepting what is below.
Last updated 5 October 2026.
What Cyto is
Cyto records rides and keeps them for you to look back at. It is free to use, and we offer it as it is — we do not promise it will suit a particular purpose of yours.
Ride safely, and do not look at your phone
Nothing in Cyto needs your attention while you are moving. Start a ride before you set off and stop it when you are done. Reading a screen while riding is dangerous, and obeying the road rules where you are riding is yours to do, not ours.
Cyto is not a navigation app and will not route you anywhere.
The numbers are estimates
Distance, climb and speed are estimates, worked out from your phone's GPS and pressure sensor. Both are affected by things we do not control — where the sky is blocked, how your phone is held, and, for climb, the weather, since a change in air pressure reads the same way as a change in height.
So do not use Cyto's figures for anything that matters medically, for competition, or for any decision where being wrong carries a cost. If you need an exact figure, use an instrument intended for it.
Your account
Your account is yours alone. Keep access to the email address behind it, because that address is how anyone signs in — there is no password to lose, and whoever can read that inbox can reach your rides.
You can ask us to close your account at any time. We may close an account that is being used to attack, overload or interfere with the service, or to break the law.
What you upload
Your rides stay yours. We store and process them to give you the service and for nothing else — the privacy policy sets out exactly what that means. We claim no ownership of them and we do not publish them.
Interruptions and changes
Cyto may be unavailable at times, and we may change or withdraw parts of it. An update may become necessary before the app will keep working, and when that happens the app will say so and point you at the current build.
Rides recorded on your phone stay on your phone until they upload, so an outage delays an upload rather than losing a ride.
Liability
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for loss arising from using Cyto — including lost or inaccurate ride data, or anything that happens while riding. Nothing here limits a liability that cannot lawfully be limited.
Which law applies
These terms are governed by the laws of India, and disputes go to the courts of Chennai, Tamil Nadu.
